Arrival to The Henderson

Parking Lots
There are five (5) handicap accessible parking spaces available in the underground parking garage.

Front Desk & Check-in
The front entrance is easily accessible with no stairs and automated doors that open directly into the Living Room with a view of the Henderson State Park. The front desk is able to facilitate check-in while the guest stays relaxed in their wheelchair with discreet pull out desks at each front desk station.

Guests may use elevators to get to each guestroom floor, Sprinkles Café, Poppy’s Club, fitness center, outdoor pools and rooftop.  The Salamander Spa, business center, Living Room, Sunset Terrace, Primrose restaurant, Horizons Bar, meeting rooms, and Boutique are all located on the main level.

All indoor signage is equipped with braille.

Restrooms in common areas

Both male and female restrooms located down the historical hallway are designed with one (1) larger wheelchair accessible stall. Toilets in the wheelchair accessible stalls are raised. All restrooms located on the P2 level as well as Pool restrooms have a larger wheelchair accessible stall or are a larger single stall restroom with grab bare.

Pools & Beach

All pools on property are equipped with ADA Lifts including:

  • Outdoor Family Pool
  • Outdoor Adult Pool

Beach Wheelchairs are available at private beach access though Henderson Park Inn

Salamander Spa

  • All Treatment rooms are spacious with ADA accessible treatment beds
  • Both male and female lounge areas are equipped with low profile lounge chairs
  • Both male and female wet areas are equipped with roll in shower with accessible pull-down bench

Guestroom Accommodations

The Henderson offers two accommodations options – The Henderson Resort and The Lofts at The Henderson. The Henderson guest rooms are located within the main resort building of The Henderson. The Lofts at The Henderson are adjacent to the main resort building and offer spacious accommodation options with multiple rooms, kitchens and living spaces.

The Henderson offers twenty (20) ADA compliant guestroom options including four(4) ADA king guest rooms, three (3) ADA double queen rooms, (1) pool view suite and twelve (12) hearing impaired rooms  All guest rooms are equipped with strobe lighting and audio fire alarm system and include the following features:

  • Roll in showers
  • Raised toilets
  • Raised bench inside the shower
  • Roll up vanity
  • Lowered thermostats
  • Lowered security peep hole
  • Wider guest room closets
  • Option for lower hanging rail inside the guest closet
  • Floor push switches for floor lamps
  • Push switches for all side lamps
  • Special curtain pull rods
  • Shower stools are available on request

The Lofts at The Henderson

The lofts at The Henderson offer four (4) ADA compliant units to include king beds, bunk style beds and sleeper sofas. All guest rooms are equipped with strobe lighting and audio fire alarm system and include the following features:

  • Roll in showers
  • Roll up vanity
  • Lowered counter tops in kitchen
  • Lowered AC control
  • Side by side washer and dryer
  • Deeper bathtub with grab bare
  • Raised toilets

The lofts at The Henderson also provide (4) single stall indoor and outdoor restrooms with grab bare and a roll up ramp entry from Matthew Boulevard and from the Family Pool.
